You may even attach a flyer or image of your event. Properly posted events will be reviewed, edited and considered for both our website and air-personalities to talk about, in rotation with other community events. These announcements can also be emailed a minimum of 2 weeks in advance to kent@wcfx.com.

*Thru May 25: Art Reach of Mid-Michigan - This is a recurring 4-week class for students who wish to hone their colored pencil skills further with artist and instructor Julie Tyslicky. 6-8pm in the Idonea Hersee Classroom at Art Reach, 111 E. Broadway in Mount Pleasant. Recommended ages: Adults only

*Thru May 26: Mt Pleasant Parks & Recreation registration for "Start Smart Tee Ball" - Cost: Resident-$42, Non-Resident-$59 - 3-4 year olds - Six-week course allowing participants to learn the basic skills of tee ball (hitting, throwing, catching, etc.) Mondays OR Tuesdays June 1- July 7

*Thru May 26: Mid-Michigan College Summer Registration is Open - The semester begins Tuesday, May 26.

*Thru May 29: The City of Midland invites residents to apply for positions on one of the City’s boards and commissions. Applicants may submit applications to cityhall@midland-mi.org; by mail to City Hall, Attention: City Manager’s Office, or by placing the application inside the secure drop box inside the front doors of City Hall. Applications submitted by 5:00 p.m. on May 29, 2026 will receive first consideration, however applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.

*Thru May 29: Art Reach of Mid Michigan "Art Flair Registration Open" - We are looking for creative people to paint and decorate handmade wooden or refurbished items for Art Flair – our annual youth art education fundraiser. Artists paint or embellish wood furniture pieces. Finished pieces will be on display May 30-June 18, 2026, at various businesses in downtown Mt. Pleasant. Each piece will be entered into a silent auction, with proceeds benefitting Art Reach children's programs and scholarships. Prizes totaling $550 will be awarded in three categories, including a people's choice popular vote.

*Thru May 31: Menards, Mt Pleasant is serving as a drop site for a local Humane Association donations - Food, treats, feeders, collars, beds, storage containers, mats and more are needed - There is a large collection box near the exit doors at Menards to place donations.

*Thru May 31: The Midland Parks and Recreation Department will accept registrations for its 2026 beach volleyball leagues - League play kicks off on Monday, June 1 at Stratford Woods Park, offering an 8-week season with an 8-game guarantee. Games will be scheduled Sunday through Thursday from 6 – 9 p.m., with teams playing only on their chosen night. Both recreational and competitive leagues are available - Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and spots fill quickly - For questions or more details, visit cityofmidlandmi.gov/beachvolleyball or contact the Parks and Recreation office at 989-837-6930 (Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) or via email at recreation@midland-mi.org.

*Thru June 30: 2nd annual Michigan 'Pothole Payback' contest, offering motorists a chance to receive compensation for repairs caused by Michigan's crumbling infrastructure. Michigan residents can submit stories and photos of pothole-related vehicle damage for a chance to win cash toward repairs. Each month, up to five winners will be selected based on the severity of the damage, with each receiving up to $800, the average cost of vehicle repairs due to poor road conditions, according to recent studies examining the financial toll of Michigan's deteriorating roads. *Thru August 1: Midland’s Beautification Advisory Committee is accepting nominations for the annual Appreciation of Beautification Awards for Landscaping Accomplishments and Structural/Site Improvements made to residential and non-residential (business) property. A third category, the Bette R. Tollar Civic Commitment Award, recognizes major beautification accomplishments that benefit the community as a whole. A digital nomination form can be found on the City of Midland website at www.cityofmidlandmi.gov/beautyawards. The nomination deadline is August 1. At this time, recipients of this year’s awards will be recognized and honored at a ceremony in November.

*Thru September 1: The City of Midland invites you to “Show us your City!”, the annual community photo contest is open for submissions. Amateur photographers are encouraged to submit their favorite photos of life in Midland for a chance to be featured in the 2027 City Calendar and Services Guide. *Thru September 30: First Saturday and third Friday from 2–3:30pm check out Herbert Dow’s Garden Tours, a 90-minute walk beginning on the porch of The Pines and travel through the Estate Garden using historic photos, letters, and journals to show how the property has changed over time. The route leaves paved paths and covers about 1.5 miles on uneven ground, making it best suited for confident walkers. Adults $5 + garden admission. *Thru November 1: Meijer Gardens, Grand Rapids exhibit "CHIHULY" - One of only two Chihuly exhibitions in the world in 2026, CHIHULY at Meijer Gardens Presented by Macatawa Bank is a major exhibition of international significance. The experience spans both the outdoor gardens and indoor Sculpture Galleries, creating a dynamic dialogue between glass, landscape, and architecture.

16 Mt Pleasant Public Safety Expo - A family-friendly event featuring local heroes, live safety demonstrations, inflatables, food trucks and fun games and activities for all ages. 11am-2pm at Town Center (Main/Broadway) for a free, family-friendly event showcasing the agencies, equipment and partnerships that help keep the Mt. 17 Last day: The first MDOT Adopt-A-Highway pickup of the year for the northern Lower Peninsula and Upper Peninsula. Volunteers pick up litter three times each year. Statewide, there will be a summer pickup from July 11 to 19 and a fall pickup from Sept. 19 to 27.

9am-10am—Line up for parade at Mt. Pleasant City Parking Lot #8 between Michigan & Broadway Streets at Lansing Street

10am—Parade through downtown to the War Memorial Area in Island Park on the North side.

Main Memorial Day Ceremony will be in Island Park at the War Memorials.

After main ceremony in Island Park we will travel to Riverside Cemetery, Calvary Cemetery and Memorial Gardens Cemetery for ceremonies honoring our Veterans there.

Once cemetery ceremonies are concluded, we will head back to the Mt. Pleasant VFW on Pickard Street for a light lunch and refreshments.

25 A Memorial Day observance is planned in the Post Cemetery on Mackinac Island - The burial grounds is one of only four U.S. national cemeteries that flies the American flag at half-staff all the time, in remembrance of the many unmarked graves dating to the War of 1812.

25 I-Ride in Isabella County will be closed Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. Regular bus service will resume Tuesday, May 26th with phone lines opening at 5:30am.

13 The Art Seen Festival 6th Annual event - 11am-4pm in the Village of Sanford. The event is free to attend, with donations appreciated, and will also feature live music from The Blue Light. Audiences can expect lively acoustic performances from local artists, including Jolie Wing, with additional performers to be announced. All activities are free and open to the public. Campers will learn all about MCTV’s video production equipment and use it to create a program called Studio B, a show for teens by teens! Pre-registration is required as space is limited.
