Johnny Depp In Talks For "Pirates of the Caribbean 6" -  “Pirates of the Caribbean” producer Jerry Bruckheimer says talks are underway with Johnny Depp about returning for "Pirates of the Caribbean 6." At Disney’s D23 event over the weekend, Bruckheimer shared, “we’re talking with Johnny, we’re working on a screenplay, and hopefully we can get this done,” while speaking with “Deadline.” The next movie is reportedly expected to center on Margot Robbie’s character, with Depp’s Jack Sparrow in a supporting role. The last “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie, “Dead Men Tell No Tales,” came out in 2017, bringing in $795.9-million.

Carly Rae Jepsen's "10 Things I Hate About You" Broadway Premiere Date Set - The musical adaptation of "10 Things I Hate About You" will begin Broadway performances on August 17, 2027. Carly Rae Jepsen and Ethan Gruska are writing the music and lyrics, while Lena Dunham and Jessica Huang are handling the book (aka the narrative structure of the musical). Christopher Wheeldon will direct and choreograph the show, based on the 1999 film starring Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles. Casting, the theater, and opening night have not yet been announced. The production will mark Dunham’s Broadway debut.

Vin Diesel Says "Fast Forever" Starts Shooting In December - The wait is almost over. Vin Diesel says production for the final "Fast and Furious" movie, "Fast Forever," begins at the end of the year. "We start shooting in December, if I can make good on the request from the studio," Diesel told "Variety" last night at the 25th anniversary screening of "The Fast and the Furious." "I’m in a good place, though. I had to go through four sets of writers, four years of development, to get to something that I felt would be worthy of a finale. And when I read the script a couple of weeks ago, [I cried]." "Fast Forever," the 11th and final film in the series, is scheduled to hit theaters on March 17, 2028.

The Netflix hit follows K-pop group HUNTR/X as they juggle superstardom with secretly hunting demons. The movie remains Netflix’s most-watched film ever, with a sequel and live concert tour in development. The Criterion release will feature exclusive cover art with HUNTR/X and the tiger Derpy. "IT: Welcome to Derry" Scores Season 2 Renewal - HBO has officially renewed “IT: Welcome to Derry” for a second season. The new season will jump back to 1935 during the Great Depression and explore the Bradley Gang coming to a bloody end. The gang will stop in Derry to buy ammo, only to end up in totally massacred. HBO’s Sarah Aubrey says in a statement that the season will deepen “the terror, the mystery, and the unforgettable Pennywise lore” fans love. “IT: Welcome to Derry” is based on Stephen King’s iconic horror novel, “IT.”

Star Guillermo Rodriguez - Witney Carson will partner with “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” star Guillermo Rodriguez for season 35 of “Dancing with the Stars.” Appearing on “Good Morning America” yesterday, Carson said she was “so stoked,” calling Rodriguez sweet, fun and personable. The two-time champion also revealed she is expecting her third child with husband Carson McAllister. "The Traitors: New Blood" Premiere Date And Trailer Released - "The Traitors: New Blood" has its first trailer, and we now know when the competition series will premiere. The NBC competition series, hosted by Alan Cumming, is an all-civilian version of the hit Peacock competition. The series rollout begins on NBC on Thursday, September 17, with a special two-hour extended premiere, with the first two episodes dropping at 8 pm ET/PT. The following Thursday at 8pm ET/PT,  two more back-to-back episodes will air. After that, new episodes will air on Thursdays at 8pm ET/PT on NBC and will stream the next day on Peacock.

Hayden Panettiere Suffered Apparent Overdose - New details have emerged about the circumstances around Hayden Panettiere’s death after authorities responded to an “unresponsive female” at a Greenville, South Carolina, residence around 1:51PM on Sunday. According to dispatch audio, officials discussed an apparent “overdose” and “cardiac arrest,” while a source told “People” that Narcan was found at the scene, suggesting an opioid emergency.  The Greenville County Coroner’s Office said first responders found Panettiere in cardiac arrest and that EMS began “advanced cardiac life support measures,” but “resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.” An autopsy was completed yesterday, and officials said the report says “no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death.”  Hayden’s cause and manner of death is still pending further investigation and additional studies, while the Greenville Police Department confirmed, “The preliminary investigation has not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances.” Panettiere’s father, Skip, confirmed her “tragic passing” in a statement following the actress’ shocking death.

During her speech, Hathaway was interrupted by a man in the crowd asking if she was having “a boy or a girl.” The actress shared the surprise announcement that she would be expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman back in June.  Clearly shocked by the audience member’s blunt question, Anne bounced back quickly and with incredible wit saying, “Oh just be patient, you’re going to find out in like five minutes.” Fans applauded Hathaway’s graceful response in the unprompted moment with some noting her Princess and Queen training came in handy.  Anne starred in multiple Disney franchises including her breakout role as Princess Mia in “The Princess Diaries” as well as playing The White Queen in “Alice in Wonderland.” The Oscar winning actress also marked the occasion by making a rare red carpet appearance at the event with her sons Jonathan and Jack. Perez Hilton Receiving Inpatient Mental Health Care - Perez Hilton is still hospitalized nearly two weeks after he experienced a severe mental health crisis during a TikTok Live. His family says he is receiving inpatient care from physicians and mental health professionals.  Inpatient mental health can sometimes mean that a patient will be hospitalized for an extended period as they recover. The estimated time Hilton will remain in the hospital, however, is not known at this time. Meanwhile, Perez’s team plans to resume regularly posting celebrity news on his website.  Authorities responded to his home over a possible suicide attempt, and he was reportedly treated for an overdose and multiple injuries. Perez’s children, niece and sister were home at the time, but his family says they “immediately” moved to “protect the children from witnessing any further trauma.”

KC Chiefs Co-Owner Wasn't Invited To "The Wedding": While it seems like virtually everyone in Taylor Swift or Travis Kelce's orbits was in attendance at their nuptials, one notable person says they weren't even invited. Kansas City Chiefs co-owner Daniel Hunt told "CBS News Texas," "I did not get invited to Taylor Swift’s wedding; apparently, I don’t sing well enough to get invited. That’s probably been my second biggest question of the entire summer." Hunt added that he has not spoken to Kelce since the wedding, but his brother, Clark Hunt, attended the ceremony. "My brother was there, and I talked to him, and he said, ‘Look, it was really special, and it was really unique, and we are all so happy for him'." No word on why Hunt's invite got lost in the mail.

Two weeks ago, the actor had a chance to meet with Pope Leo XIV, and told "USA Today" later that he felt faith had a place in politics. "Life is essentially a religious experience...Even though I agree with the separation of church and state, the values of those should bleed down into the values of any political system." He added that perhaps a move to ensure that is something he'd like to be involved in. "There's still a constitution out there to be written that all religions could agree on. "And I was like, 'I don’t understand. Is it viewership?' And the only thing you can boil it down to, you’re like, 'Is it just racism?' I’m not sure how to...how do you categorize it? George Hamilton Reveals Surgery Caused Him To Lose His Memory: Veteran actor George Hamilton underwent surgery several years back that gave him temporary amnesia. While the doctors told him it would fade in a few days, Hamilton says it lasted years, and upended his life. While not disclosing the exact surgery, the 87 year old Hamilton says he had to read the "Cliff's Notes" of his own life to help figure things out. "I had to read my own biography to learn who I was," he told "Page Six." "And I had to think, 'Do I like this person?' I read it through several times and looked at things from my past and I wasn’t sure if I had done them." Things have returned to normal, with the actor working on a stage play about his life that he's hoping to perform in Palm Beach this winter.

Well, Braxton also visited Le Dive with his parents! The spy says that Braxton first passed the restaurant with his parents but then crossed the street and turned around and went back towards the group. The interaction sounded sweet - with the witness saying that everyone was hugging, chatting and giving off a “very friendly vibe.” What makes this even more interesting, though? A second spy says they then saw Braxton afterwards at a psychic in the West Village, while his parents waited outside! We don’t know what he was asking the psychic, but running into your ex and then heading to a psychic can’t be a coincidence… can it?

Jonas Brothers Announce "Burning Up" Tour Extension - The Jonas Brothers are expanding their “Burning Up Tour All Over Again” with a massive 45-city North American run. The new dates kick off September 25th in Boston and wraps up December 21st in Newark. Magnus Ferrell, Franklin Jonas, All Time Low, and Deleasa are joining in on the fun for select shows. John Stamos Coming Out With His Debut Kids Book - John Stamos is coming out with his debut children’s book, and he’s teamed up with his 8-year-old son, Billy, for it! “Love from Above: A Story of Tiny Birds and Their Big Meaning” drops April 20, 2027 and the “Full House” star illustrated the book himself. The inspiration for the book also came from a personal story. “In my family, hummingbirds have always meant something more. After my dad passed, I remember my mom standing in his garden, watching a hummingbird zip by and quietly saying, ‘That’s him.’ From then on, hummingbirds became little reminders that the people we love never really leave us,” Stamos explained. “Years later, Billy saw two hummingbirds in our yard and said, ‘Dad, look! That’s Grandma Retta and Papa Bill. And just like that, the idea for this book was born.”

"Pleasantville" 4K Release Ironically Removes Key Line Of Dialogue - "Pleasantville," the 1998 film that starred Reese Witherspoon, Tobey Maguire, William Macy, Joan Allen, Don Knotts and Paul Walker, is getting a 4K Blu-ray release, but not without a heaping helping of irony. The film tells the story of brother and sister David and Jennifer, who are transported to the 50s black-and-white world of the TV series "Pleasantville," only for their presence to have a disrupting effect on the town and its residents. Those changes include introducing 1990s morality to the very "Leave It To Beaver" world they've infiltrated. The irony? The 4K Blu-Ray release cuts out one line from the film, which flies in the face of the anti-censorship message of the original.  In the film's closing minutes, Witherspoon's character explains to her brother (played by Maguire) why she's choosing to stay in Pleasantville instead of returning to the real world of the 1990s. She intends to go to college, she tells him, adding  "I did the sl*t thing, David. It got kind of old." That line did not make it into the 4K Blu-ray release. The film itself is a morality tale about the dangers of censorship, which makes the edit more than a little ironic. No comment from Shout! studios on why the line was cut.

"The Mandalorian And Grogu" Sets Disney+ Premiere Date - Disney+ has announced the premiere date for the big-screen hit "Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu." The film, which premiered in May and took in $167-million in the US and over $345-million globally, follows bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his apprentice, Grogu, as they’re recruited by officer Colonel Ward (Sigourney Weaver) to aid the New Republic. While the film was a hit, it was, at the same time, the lowest grossing live-action "Star Wars" movie (below the $393-million made by "Solo"). "The Mandalorian and Grogu" debuts on Diesney+ September 2.

"Power Rangers" Series Not Movie Forward At Disney+ - Disney+ has scrapped plans for a live-action "Power Rangers" series after roughly a year and a half in development. Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz, the team behind "Percy Jackson and the Olympians," were set to write and executive produce. The decision was reportedly driven more by budget concerns than creative issues. Hasbro previously attempted to develop a live-action "Power Rangers" series with Netflix.

New reports say that the blogger barricaded himself inside his house, until authorities and family members were able to coax him into the living room. A fire rescue team reportedly "began treatment on scene for multiple lacerations and an overdose" prior to taking Hilton to a local hospital where he was hospitalized under Florida’s Baker Act. In the wake of the disturbing incident, Hilton’s mother, Teresita Lavandeira, has temporary custody of his three kids, and he remains hospitalized.

"The Bachelor" star Arie Luyendyk Jr. has revealed that he's gotten a second vasectomy, after initially getting one and then having it reversed. On his Instagram Stories, Luyendyk wrote "Today’s a good day to get a vasectomy" over a photo of himself giving a thumbs up, including an emoji of scissors and two tennis balls. The reality star and his wife Lauren have four kids; Luyendyk first had the surgery after the couple welcomed twins, their second and third kids, before reversing it and welcoming their fourth child last September. Apparently four was enough, and Luyendyk decided to make sure there wouldn't be a fifth.

GRAMMYs Reviewing Asian Pop Category Amid BTS Backlash - The Recording Academy is apparently reconsidering its new Asian Pop GRAMMY category after criticism from artists and industry leaders. CEO Harvey Mason Jr. acknowledged in a statement that some musicians feel the category isn’t hitting the mark. “It’s clear from our numerous conversations with many stakeholders over the past two weeks that, regardless of our intent and desire to be even more inclusive, there are some artists in this space who feel that this category isn’t representing the music they work so hard to create, in the way they wish,” he shares.  Grammy executives are now consulting representatives from K-pop, J-pop, C-pop, and other communities about possible changes. The debate comes after BTS declined to submit music for the 2027 GRAMMYs, partly because of concerns about the category. Genre-specific awards can leave artists feeling separated from major categories, rather than celebrated. BTS shared at the time, “We hope our music can be heard and loved for what it is, rather than being divided by region or language.”
