Wet Nose Wednesday - 08/09/23
Meet Charlie! He used to own a pub with his four buddies, but he is now looking to settle down in his forever home! His hobbies include magnets and he likes funny little green ghouls. He has a dislike for people's knees and his favorite food is milk steak!
Meet Junebug! Junebug is an adorable Boxer that was used as a breeder dog and received very little socialization, so she is scared of every new experience. She is skittish and slow to warm up, but after a few minutes of slow pets, she will crawl up in your lap for cuddles! Junebug is looking for a home that will provide her with some TLC and help her to become a more confident doggy!

Meet sweet Gramps! Gramps is a senior kitty looking for a loving home to retire in! He is estimated to be around 10 years old and he is FIV+, but he has embraced his inner lion and shown FIV who is boss! It does not affect his daily living. His lack of teeth, however, does. Gramps is all gums because he arrived with broken teeth and an infected mouth. He has to eat a wet food only diet. He is fine now, and actually loves that he gets to eat wet food every day! Gramps is waiting for someone to give him a chance. He may be rough around the edges due to having been through a lot in his life, but he has a lot of love to give. Come meet our gummy bear, Gramps!
Meet Meadow! She is a beautiful German Shepherd that was surrendered after 6 years of breeding on a farm. She is very sweet, gentle, and shy. Meadow didn't grow up having the experiences of your average family pet, so she is slowly learning what it's like to have cozy beds, toys, and lots of human interaction.
Meadow is looking for a foster-to-adopt home while we continue to address her medical care. She has a growth on her rear foot and we are currently exploring the best surgical options. We would love to place her in a loving home during this process. Meadow is looking for a calm home that will give her plenty of patience and guidance. She would do best with adults or older kids that will go very slow with her. She does not show any interest in our cats. She would do best as the only dog while she gets established in her new home, but she may open up to other canine friends in the future once she becomes more comfortable and confident.

I'm Louise! When I first came to HATS, I was very overwhelmed by the shelter environment and it made me grumpy. I liked to hide a lot and didn't enjoy people touching me. After some TLC, I am now comfortable and my very sweet, affectionate personality has shown! I like to give little love headbutts and flop over on my side when being pet! I am very thankful for all the patience and care I have gotten from staff and volunteers -- they knew I was sweet all along, I was just stressed out! Now I am ready to find my forever home!

This young, handsome German Shepherd didn't have the stability he needed as a puppy which led to anxiety and challenging behavior that needed special attention. To help Mike become more confident and learn basic commands, he was placed with a great foster family that has experience with his breed. They have worked wonders with him and here is what they have to say about his progress:
"Mike loves kids, other dogs, and we found out that he LOVES swimming! There is not one aggressive or mean bone in this pup's body. He listens to my 5-year-old when she tells him a command and is so patient when my 2-year-old uses him as a match car course. He wants to be near you all the time! His goofy and clumsy personality shines through the most around other dogs. He has come so far since we first took him as a foster and I can't wait to see a family scoop him up and see the gem of a dog he can be."
Mike is looking for a home that will continue to provide him with the stability, love, and mental/physical exercise that he needs.

Say hello to Edwardo! This big, handsome boy is all about the cuddles! He is very relaxed and always down for some head scratches. Edwardo is also very special because he has FIV and diabetes. Feline immunodeficiency virus is very manageable and Edwardo can still live a long, happy life. The most important things that he needs are a loving home, a healthy diet, and annual vet visits. His diabetes is currently being managed with insulin and special food.
We know there is a special person out there who will give Edwardo the life he has always deserved -- and they will embrace his uniqueness! Did we mention his chubby cheeks? Who wouldn't want to snuggle that big head every day!?
Edwardo is currently looking for a foster-to-adopt home. We will continue to provide veterinary care during the foster period. If you have any questions about his care, please reach out and we'd be glad to tell you more! His insulin is very easy to administer in the morning and evening.

Meet Capone! This little Bulldog mix is around 33 lbs and he's a bundle of fun! He loves the company of people and enjoys laying his head on you for cuddles. Capone really enjoys his toys and playtime. He gets bursts of energy but can also be very calm. He is crate and potty trained in his current foster home. He generally walks well on a leash -- but hold on if he gets excited! Capone could potentially live with other dogs pending a meet-and-greet.

Hey there! My name is Dixie, I came in with my baby, Pixie and we are looking for our forever home! I've got a huge heart. Some of my favorite things are snuggling with my little girl, taking cat naps, exploring, wet food, and yummy treats. I am shyer, but with the right home, I could be super playful! Meet Darwin! This charming guy loves people and is fairly active! Darwin is looking for a forever home where he will get lots of play time and lots of treats!
This adorable girl is about 3 years old and loooooovvess people! She has the cutest ears that you just have to see! They look like they cannot decide which way to go! And we love her spots! Cuteness aside, Peppermint Patty is a great dog. She is friendly and playful and cannot wait for her new family to come and take her home.
Meet Snoopy! Snoopy is a very affectionate pup that loves to play! He loves to run but his Beagle nose means he should probably be kept on leash or in a secure yard! Running and sniffing are two of his favorite things, but he also appreciates a good scratch behind the ears!

Moo is 3 years old -- but still acts like a little baby! He is VERY affectionate and likes to be cradled and loved on. And he is irresistible in his little outfits! Moo is on a special diet for allergies that cause him to scratch his neck. The clothing helps prevent him from harming himself while we continue to work on resolving the issue. Moo is looking for a home where he can be the only pet, but he loves all people!!!

Meet Lloyd!
Lloyd is a quiet cat and he is shy at first but comes out of his shell very quickly with gentle pets. This gorgeous charcoal grey cat is ready to find his forever home! He has a go-with-the-flow type attitude. Want a chill lap cat? Lloyd likes attention. Looking for a cat that will play nice with your cat? Lloyd loves making friends! Want a cat that is happy doing it's own thing? Lloyd is also content being independent!

Meet Sonic!
This charming tabby cat came to us as a stray. You probably can't look away from that sweet face and those cute little ears -- that is what makes everyone fall in love with him! What keeps people wanting more of Sonic is his sweet personality! Sonic loves to play with toys and he is also very affectionate and goofy. Already have a cat? Great! Sonic would love to have a brother or sister.

Meet baby Sebastian! He is your typical playful, sweet kitten!
This little guy loves pets and attention and playing with his best friend, Odin! Odin is another resident cat here at HATS. The two can often be seen romping around together in our cat room!
Daffodil is super friendly and loves everyone she meets! She rides well in the car and takes treats gently. She also walks well on leash when there aren't any squirrels around to taunt her!
Daffodil was rescued from Louisiana through the BISSELL Pet Foundation. She was very pregnant and was transported to a safe foster home to have her pups. Daffodil is all done raising her family and she's ready to focus on her own health!
Daffodil is heartworm positive and is looking for a foster home while she goes through treatment. This will take about 4-months and requires monthly vet visits. Her foster home must be within a reasonable distance of our Health Clinic. This sweetie could potentially live with kids or other dogs pending a meet-and-greet.

Hi, I'm Mau! I am the perfect combination of loving, playful and cuddly! I like to mix it up often. Have some catnip? We will be best friends in no time! Watch me roll, jump and lick up all the catnip as soon as you give it to me! Once I'm done playing, I will most certainly nuzzle up to with some sweet purrs and then settle in for one long cat nap.
Mau is 8-years-old and he is front-declawed. He would do best in a relaxed home with adults that understand the long-term effects and needs of a declawed cat. This may include pain management and working through behavioral challenges caused by the trauma of the surgery.
